Away We GoWhen you hear those two names, what do you think of? TV’s “The Office” and “SNL.” Yet, when the these two appeared as the young couple searching for a place to raise their unborn child in Sam Mendes’ Away We Go, they created one of the most realistic and relatable couples to ever grace the big screen. Good chemistry is hard to come by in the cinema these days, but these two actors were so convincing as two people completely in love with each other, when my wife and I walked out of the movie, we were recalling moments from the movie where they mirrored our own relationship and interactions. We also decided the two actors just need to leave their significant others and get married in real life.

On Krasinski – There are far too few actors who can pull of a dramatic moment in a film without uttering a single word and still make you understand their emotions. Tom Hanks is a perfect example. In the Amateur Night scene, Krasinski pulls this off marvelously. His body language left you feeling exactly what his character was feeling without being over-the-top. It’s a rarity for such a moment and it coming from Krasinski made it even more powerful for me. For me he is now in the top leagues of actors working today.

On Rudolph – Two scenes really stood out for me with Rudolph. The first being the scene between her and her sister as they laid in the bath tub of the department store and talked about their dead parents. Her quiet and thoughtful delivery of her lines made them feel natural and personal, breaking my heart. The second is the very last scene in the film, which I won’t discuss at length so as not to spoil anything. Let’s just say, she pulls a Krasinski.
