Mildly amusing story which reveals the depths of my dorkiness
This'll be old news to my chat buddies from last night, but I decided this is (un)funny enough that I'd post it where everyone could have a good laugh at my expense, or at least a smirk.
My apartment building has a lovely roof deck, and last summer I had a blast taking pictures from it and going up there to relax. For the past five or so months, the roof door has been locked with one of those double-locks and surrounded with "CAUTION" tape and a sign that said THE DECK IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!! or whatever. So I didn't like it, but I got used to it.
Finally, this past week, there were some really beautiful days and I got sick of not being able to take photos from my roof. One evening I came home and decided I was going to get up on the roof somehow, some way.
I jumped out the window and used the fire escape, my camera and tripod slung in a backpack, and took my pictures, then went back down and through the window back to my apt. I did this a total of 3 or so evenings.
Well, last night I was standing there taking pictures of a nice sunset (pics forthcoming) when two of my skirt-wearing, impeccably groomed neighbors casually walked through the door with THE DECK IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!! sign on it, and started having a smoke. I just kinda stood there and stared at them.. and then, I not only asked them if they'd come through the door (duhh), I revealed in my shock that I'd climbed the ladder to get to the roof, 'cause I thought it was still locked. They looked at me like I needed treatment. These are girls who looked as if they wouldn't climb a fire escape ladder to save themselves from a fire - but probably spend at least a half hour on the Stairmaster every day.
The guys in chat last night asked me to take pics to illustrate.

Bwahahahaha! You never even touched the handle on the door or anything? That's too funny.
