icine poetry contest - entry 1

Bright eyes
looking towards the sky
A sweet smile on her face
while catching snowflakes
on her out-stretched tongue
She laughs and frolics
without a care in the world
Oblivious to her heartbroken friend
She hugs her coat tight
looks over to her best friend
and notices her sad eyes
Guilty that she ignored her
She offers a comforting smile
as she puts her arm around her friend
She guides her down the street
Back to her house
Where she drops her off
with a hug and kind words
She knows that when she picks her up tomorrow
she'll never ignore her again
